Operation Example: Isolated High-speed Door in Steel Mill
9. June 2011In February HaWe Speed deployed a high-speed door to a siding of a steel mill in Bochum. The deployed door is a TurboRoll 20/AL with the dimensions 3.80 x 4.20 meters. On eye level, a double-walled vision profile was installed. The door is being operated through induction loops and additional push-buttons.
As to the processing of crude steel the door is exposed to dust and draught. It opens at a speed of 2.0m/sec. To guarantee the high speed and a long service life, the drive is additionally supported by tension springs, which are installed behind covers in the side parts. Hereby, in case of a power failure, the door can be opened quickly and easily from the ground.
